The Family YMCA News:

The Family YMCA kicked off its 2024 Annual Giving Campaign last week with its first Chairman’s Round Table Donor El Parasol. El Parasol donated $5,000 and has a long history of providing support in the communities of northern New Mexico and view this as an important part of their business.

“We really appreciate the programs the YMCA provides in our communities, and we are glad that we are in a position to provide this support,” El Parasol Owner Ralph Atencio said during a check presentation last week with Y CEO Chris Daniels.

Daniels said, “We truly appreciate this kind of leadership. The generosity of our community partners allows us to make our programs available to the youth and families that need them the most.”

The YMCA has a motto: “We don’t turn anyone away for their inability to pay.” This year, based on increased needs in the communities it serves, the YMCA has increased its fundraising goal to $250,000.

Monies raised will support financial assistance through need-based scholarships for childcare, memberships and youth programs, as well as program support for its Teen Centers in Los Alamos and Española.
