Santa Fe National Forest Lifts Fire Restrictions

Effective at 8 a.m., Thursday July 12, the Santa Fe National Forest will go from Stage 2 Fire Restrictions to no fire restrictions forest-wide, to include the Valles Caldera National Preserve.

Current monsoon rains and favorable weather forecasts are allowing for the complete lifting of fire restrictions.

Public Invited to Valle Santa Rosa Workshop and Campout

The second of three workshops is planned on the tributaries of San Antonio Creek this summer.

Santa Rosa Creek is a major tributary to San Antonio Creek. It is being severely impacted by increased runoff from adjacent slopes burned by the Las Conchas Fire.

The Los Amigos are again partnering with the Albuquerque Wildlife Federation (AWF) to accomplish valuable wetland restoration.

One Year Later: Udall to Tour Las Conchas & Wallow Fire Sites

SOCORRO – This week, U.S. Sen. Tom Udall will visit Catron County and Santa Clara Pueblo to examine the destructive long-term effects of last year’s Las Conchasand Wallow fires and their implications for the current record-breaking wildfire season.
