Weekly Fishing Report: Jan. 10, 2026

The stocking of rainbow trout resumed this past week in Northern New Mexico. Catchable-size rainbow trout were stocked at many locations. Check in the fishing reports to see how many and when trout were stocked. If they were not stocked let week, the most recent stocking  will be included. There was some very cold weather over the weekend, Below-zero temperatures were recorded at some locations. This could help get the ice-fishing season going. Listening Session For North Mesa Picnic Grounds Renovations Jan. 14 At Fuller Lodge

The Next Phase of the North Mesa Picnic Grounds Master Plan is underway. Los Alamos County Community Services invites the community to a listening session 5:30-7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, at Fuller Lodge, to gather input on proposed renovations to the North Mesa Picnic Grounds.

          • Hazardous fuels reduction work continues through the winter 

SANTA FE—The National Weather Service has forecast snow and precipitation across the Santa Fe National Forest beginning Thursday, Jan. 8, potentially creating favorable conditions for implementing pile burns in some districts. 

Santa Fe National Forest fire managers will continue hazardous fuels reduction work throughout the winter as weather conditions allow, pending all required approvals. Pile burning is meant to treat slash, like branches, piled by thinning crews with the aim of reducing flammable fuels. Read More
