LANL Public Trails Meeting March 25 At Fuller Lodge

Want to learn more about our trails and how you can help care for them? The National Nuclear Security Administration, Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), Los Alamos County, and the U.S. Forest Service will hold a public information meeting on the area’s trails, 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, at Fuller Lodge, 2132 Central Ave.
Doors open at 5 p.m. with an opportunity to interact with trails, resources management, and safety personnel. The meeting will provide the latest information about our trails and feature discussions on trail management and safe trail use.

MORA — The New Mexico State Parks Division will open a newly constructed campground at Coyote Creek State Park on Saturday, March 28, adding the first cabin accommodations in the Division’s 93-year history and introducing modern camping amenities designed to improve access for a wider range of visitors.

They also collect plant materials and store them in ‘haystacks’ under rocks to eat during the winter. Pikas are closely related to rabbits and hares. The weather has been unseasonably warm in Northern New Mexico this past week. Winter is loosening its grip, and more fishing locations are opening. Bank fishing at lakes is normally good at this time of year. The streams have yet to be swollen from spring runoff and could also provide good fishing.
The ice-fishing season was a real dud this year. The only spot open for most of the season was Hopewell Lake. Eagle Nest Lake was open for about a week, and Fenton Lake was never able to offer ice fishing.
