Los Alamos Community Invited To Join Animal Protection New Mexico For Vegan BBQ Saturday At Urban Park Pavilion

The community is invited to join Animal Protection New Mexico (APNM) for a free vegan BBQ beginning at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 8 at Urban Park Pavilion, 2070 North Road.

APNM members will discuss how their organization is making a difference for all animals in New Mexico. Those in attendance will have the opportunity to enjoy some delicious vegan food and socialize with other passionate animal advocates.

Summer is officially here with the arrival of the annual Los Alamos Summer Concert Series, beginning May 24 through Aug. 30.

Every Friday night, local and regional musical acts in a variety of genres will take the Ashley Pond Park stage, while attendees mingle, dance, sing along, and enjoy the beautiful atmosphere of the park and downtown Los Alamos.

Paella is the national dish of Spain. The first time I ate paella was over twenty years ago in Seville, Spain. I traveled there to help do research on ancient acequias for a book that my friend was working on at the time. In its traditional form, it is a rice dish made with Spanish chorizo, rabbit and fresh seafood. The name is believed to have come from an old Arabic word meaning leftovers.
