“La Fin du Monde Party” (End of the World Party, Party like there is no tomorrow) 5-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21

  • Dinner Special: Stout Braised Brisket with Bourbon Peach Glaze, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Vidalia Onion Rings

Blue Window Bistro Offers New Year’s Eve Pre-Party Dinner

The Blue Window Bistro in Los Alamos will host a 5-course New Year’s Eve dinner from 5-9 p.m. Monday, Dec. 31. Reservations are required.

A special menu will be served, including three appetizer choices, 3 entrée choices and a complimentary glass of champagne for $60 per person.

  • 1 can beef consomme
  • 1 can french onion soup
  • 2 small cans of mushrooms (juice from 1can, drain the other can)
  • 1 stick of butter

Denise Lane, owner of both the Dixie Girl and Hill Diner has announced a change in Sunday offerings at the two restaurants.

Beginning Sunday Dec. 9, Hill Diner will not be open Sundays, but the Dixie Girl will be open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. for Sunday brunch and lunch.

  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 small pkg of unflavored gelatin
  • 2 1/4 cup whole milk
  • 1 pkg(qt size)non-fat dried milk powder (1- 1/2 cup)
  • 6 egg yolks
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 tablespoon rum (opt)

‘Breakfast With Santa’ Draws Kids Big And Small

The annual Kiwanis Breakfast with Santa supported this year by Del Norte Credit Union helps Northern New Mexico families in need.

The breakfast and photo with Santa were free, but attendees were asked to bring non-perishable food and/or make a monetary donation.

Two truckloads of donated food collected at the event was given to LA Cares for distribution needy families. The monetary donations collected at the breakfast totalled $1,463, according to Kiwanis Treasurer Read More

Eat Breakfast With Santa This Saturday

KIWANIS News:

The community is invited to the annual Breakfast with Santa, sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Los Alamos, with support from Del Norte Credit Union, from 7-11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1 at the Betty Ehart Senior Center, 1101 Bathtub Row.

The breakfast is free. In return, attendees are requested to donate either non-perishable food items or money.

Food collected will be used by LA Cares to feed local families in need. Money donated will be used for the Kiwanis/CYFD Foster Children Christmas Party. Read More
