Jeff Casalina, Democrat, files to run for Los Alamos County Assessor Tuesday in Council Chambers at the Municipal Building. Casalina said he has retired from the Department of Energy and he wanted to do something more. After speaking to current Assessor George Chandler, Casalina decided to run for Assessor. Retired Los Alamos County Manager Steve Lynne returns Tuesday to Council Chambers inside the Municipal Building to file for a position on County Council. ‘It’s been two years, I thought it is time to start giving back in a different way,’ he said. Magistrate Judge Catherine Taylor files for re-election Tuesday inside Council Chambers at the Municipal Building. Taylor said she decided to run again because ‘This is the best job I ever had. I’ve learned a lot and I continue to learn a lot everyday.’ Taylor said she is a member of the Magistrate Judge Association and was appointed by the New Mexico Supreme Court to the Magistrate Judge Advisory Committee.
