County Announces Denver Steels Phase II Improvement Project To Begin Feb. 2 With Road Closures Scheduled

COUNTY News:

The Los Alamos County Public Works Department, in partnership with the Department of Public Utilities and under contract with Spear D Construction (TLC Company Inc.), announces that the Denver Steels Phase II Improvement Project will begin Monday, Feb. 2.

The project includes replacement of roadway, targeted concrete replacement including curb and gutter, valley gutters, sidewalk, drive pads, and ADA improvements. Aging water lines and fire hydrants will also be replaced.

Besides voting against an MRA commission, Los Alamos County Council unanimously approved the North Mesa Recreation Master Plan Tuesday night in Council Chambers. The public filled the chambers, many wearing bike helmets, to voice their support for the plan. Los Alamos 2025 Crime Statistics Reflect 20% Drop

Overall, crime reported to police in all categories fell 20%, with Crimes Against Persons increasing from 47 to 56, Crimes Against Property decreasing from 153 to 110, and Crimes Against Society decreasing from 22 to 12. 

Consistent with crime reported to police in 2024, larceny/theft and fraud cases continue to drive higher crime rates within the community.
