Registration Open For SFWAF’s Annual Symposium: Democracy In Danger

The Santa Fe World Affairs Forum with co-sponsorship from the Santa Fe Community College is pleased to announce that registration is now open for its 2026 symposium “Democracy in Danger” to be held Thursday April 30 and Friday May 1, in the college’s Lecture Hall (rm 216).

This two-day annual event will focus on the elements, values of and dangers to democratic governance in the US and abroad. New Mexico High School Students Can Earn Paycheck This Summer Through Statewide Program

SANTA FE — Applications are now open for the 2026 New Mexico Summer Enrichment Internship Program (SEIP), offering high school students the opportunity to earn a paycheck this summer while gaining real-world work experience.  

Through this state-supported Public Education Department (PED) program, students complete eight-week paid internships with local employers, working 20 hours per week while receiving professional skills training and dedicated program support. Family YMCA To Host Easter Step Class Fundraiser April 5 For Los Alamos High School Senior Appreciation Night

FAMILY YMCA News:

The Family YMCA is inviting the community to celebrate Easter morning with movement and purpose at a special Easter Step Class Fundraiser at 9:15 a.m. Sunday, April 5  in the Main YMCA Gymnasium.

While the YMCA facility will be closed for regular programming that day, the Easter Step Class offers community members ages 13 and older a fun opportunity to stay active while supporting a meaningful local tradition.

All donations from the class will directly benefit Senior Appreciation Night (SAN) for the seniors of Los Alamos High School.

SANTA FE— Santa Fe National Forest (SFNF) fire managers were notified of a new wildfire start, named the Nacimiento Wildfire, this morning, March 22. The wildfire is in the Cuba Ranger District, located south of the Nacimiento Mine and south of N.M. 126.
