Beauty in the Beast Opening Reception Featured Unique Perspectives

Friday night’s opening reception drew 150 people to view the Beauty in the Beast show at Fuller Lodge Art Center.

The show revealed the wild side of beauty. It runs through March 31.

Works by local artist Thelma Hahn are on display in the Portal. The Art Center at 2132 Central Ave. is in the historic Fuller Lodge and is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

Receiving the entries for the Fuller Lodge Art Center’s newest show, “Beauty and the Beast” was similar to awarding homework an A+, Director Ken Nebel said. Every piece made the grade.

From a bronze sculpture of a whimsical pig, “Petal” to delicate jewelry pieces made from glass and watch parts, the show reveals the artists’ creativity and imagination as they interpreted this unique topic.

Los Alamos Little Theatre Changes Opening of ‘The Giver’ to March 2

The Los Alamos Little Theatre will present “The Giver” by Eric Coble, adapted from the Newbery Medal winning book for young people by Lois Lowry. Originally scheduled to open this Friday,  the play will now open Friday March 2 and run through March 17. Show times are 7:30 p.m. Fridays and 2:30 p.m. Saturday matinees. One alone is not enough … Atomic City Children’s Theater proudly presents Disney’s “Mulan, Jr.” at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24 and 3 p.m.Saturday,  Feb. 25 at Duane W. Smith Auditorium.
