Santa Fe Concert Band With Members Of Santa Fe Symphony Chorus To Honor Veterans With Concert Nov. 11

SFCB News:

The Santa Fe Concert Band will present a concert in conjunction with the City of Santa Fe official observance of Veterans Day at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 11 in the Santa Fe Convention Center, 201 W. Marcy St.

The Santa Fe Concert Band along with members of the Santa Fe Symphony Chorus invite the public to join in a tribute to honor our veterans and to show our gratitude and respect for their service. The inspiring, patriotic concert serves as a prelude to the City of Santa Fe official program in observance of Veterans Day. Musical selections include America the Beautiful, Hymn to the Fallen, God Bless America, and Armed Forces Salute.

The Santa Fe Concert Band, comprising about 50 local volunteer musicians, offers free concerts throughout the year. Its origins date back to the Civil War era (1865). In 1983, it was formally re-incorporated under the directorship of Greg Heltman, who has been conducting it ever since. He is also known for founding the Santa Fe Symphony Orchestra and was its executive director for 34 years.

Admission is free. Donations are appreciated.
