FBI: Arizona Woman Pleads Guilty To Federal Assault Charges In Drunk Driving Crash
FBI News:
ALBUQUERQUE — An Arizona woman pleaded guilty to a 2023 drunk driving crash that seriously injured two people.
According to court documents, Dec. 30, 2023, Shaina Shorty, 36, an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation, drove while intoxicated and crashed into a vehicle occupied by Jane Doe 1 and Jane Doe 2. As a result of the crash, both Jane Doe 1 and Jane Doe 2 sustained serious bodily injuries.
Shorty pleaded guilty to two counts of assault resulting in serious bodily injury. At sentencing she faces up to 10 years in prison.

Pedestrian In Critical Condition After Being Struck By Truck Near North Road And Urban Street This Morning
LAPD News:
Today, Sunday, March 15, 2026, at approximately 11 a.m., officers from the Los Alamos Police Department (LAPD) and medics from the Los Alamos Fire Department were dispatched to the area of North Road and Urban Street in reference to a crash involving a pedestrian and a vehicle.
Preliminary investigation indicates a truck was making a left turn from North Road onto Urban Street when it struck a pedestrian. The pedestrian, a 68-year-old male, was treated at the scene before being transported to Los Alamos Medical Center.
