Power has been restored to the Western Area after a lightning-related incident occurred at about 12:50 p.m. today. Standby electric linemen from the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities responded to the power outage and by 2 p.m. had restored the electric power.
If power is still out in individual homes, Deputy Utility Manager – Electric Distribution Stephen Marez suggested that residents check their breaker switches before calling to report an outage. Lightning storms can often cause surges that trigger the breaker.
