SAMUEL JASON NASISE Sept. 26,1969 – June 10, 2024
It is with great sorrow that we announce that our Beloved son, father, cousin, fiancé and friend, Samuel Jason Nasise, was called home into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior, on June 10, 2024.
He was born on September 26,1969 in Los Alamos, N.M. Sam passed away surrounded by his loving parents and his cherished Fiancée, Christa Baer Corrigan, leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth and light. Sam lived a life filled with joy, kindness and unwavering optimism. His passion and zest for life touched the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to know him. Nothing brought Sam more joy than to be with his family, fiancée and friends.
Sam, an only child, is survived by his parents, Joseph and Qualia Nasise; his four adored daughters Tiffany, Bailee, Tylee and Preslee and his cherished Fiancée Christa Baer Corrigan. He is also survived by his uncles Robert Samuel Nasise, Norman Charles Nasise, many cousins and countless deeply loved friends. Sam also leaves behind his precious little White Schnauzer, Brady, whom he affectionately called his “Little Buddy”.
Sam was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Samuel and Gladys Blaisdell Nasise and his maternal grandparents Qualie and Edna Windom Esparza. Sam and his grandmother, Gladys, were proud of their heritage as descendants of the Blaisdell Family, who were part of the Great Puritan Migration. They traveled from England to New England on the ship Angel Gabriel, which tragically crashed on the coast of Maine in August 1635.
While Sam was well-known for his many accomplishments, he always prayed for strength and skill and gave his glory to the Lord. Sam was a skilled carpenter by trade, contributing to many homes in Los Alamos, but, it was always clear: snow-skiing was his greatest passion. Sam took this passion all the way to the pre-Olympic trials. He was a competitive Freestyle skier advocating for the new style in the eighties and nineties. Even as he was aging, he continued to be a respected Freestyle skier and passed his God given skiing skills and joy to his daughters. He will be missed by his many friends on Pajarito Mountain.
In later years he was known as a professional drag boat racer. He and his father, Joe, made up the Critical Mass team. Together they placed in the world finals several times as well as being regularly on MAVTV. He will be celebrated by members and friends of the International Hot Boat Association (IHBA), Arizona Drag Boat Association (ADBA), and the Southwest Drag Boat Association (SWBA).
Sam’s love for his many friends and family was unconditional, perhaps his greatest strength. Even in his greatest struggles he lived a life filled with joy, kindness, and unwavering optimism. He was a kind, gentle, generous, compassionate, free spirit who loved helping others. His passion and zest for life touched the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to know him. To his parents, he was not just a son, but a best friend and a source of much love and joy. Sam’s greatest joy was being a father. For his daughters, he was a cheerleader and patient teacher, offering unwavering support and love at every turn. His ability to forge connections with people from all walks of life was remarkable. Sam’s magnetic personality drew others to him, and he effortlessly made friends wherever he went.
Sam’s legacy is woven with memories of laughter-filled adventures, heartfelt conversations and the love he freely gave to those around him. His presence brought joy to countless lives and his absence leaves a void that cannot be filled.
Although Sam’s light has dimmed here on earth, his spirit continues to shine brightly in heaven where he rests peacefully in the arms of his Heavenly Father. His memory, a beacon of love, compassion, and inspiration will forever bless us all. His spirit lives on in the hearts of his family and friends, a testament to a life lived fully and with great love.
Son, father, uncle, cousin, fiancé and friend, you are greatly loved and forever cherished. Rest in peace, dear Son. You will be deeply missed and always lovingly remembered.
As we mourn his loss, we find solace in Our Lord’s words, “In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to myself; that where I am, there you may be also.’’ John 14:2-3
There will be a memorial service for family and friends celebrating Sam’s life at The Christian Church, 92 East Road, Los Alamos, N.M., on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. His interment will be held at the Guaje Pines Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. in Los Alamos followed by a reception at the Church.
