Charles Lavern (C.L.) Mader II, of Redmond, Washington, died on September 3, 2016, at the age of 53. He was born November 7, 1962 in Los Alamos, New Mexico.

He attended the Los Alamos schools 1967-1980 graduating in 1980. He was a National Merit Scholar. He graduated from the University of California, San Diego in 1983 with a B.S. in Physics and Mathematics. He did graduate studies at the University of California, Los Angeles and the University of New Mexico.

He lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico until August 2000 when he moved to the Seattle, Washington area where he worked as a Computer Software Professional. He was a member of the Los Alamos Boy Scout Troop 122 from 1974 to 1980 where he became an Eagle Scout in 1976. He was an accomplished skier, hiker, backpacker and mountain climber. He was an active member of the Methodist Church.

He is survived by his parents, Charles and Emma Jean Mader, of Los Alamos and Honolulu, Hawaii and by his uncle, Kenneth Sinclair of Los Alamos.

He will be buried in the family plot at the Los Alamos Guaje Pines Cemetery.
