BARBARA L. JONES Feb. 22, 1927 – May 13, 2017

Barbara was born in Denver, CO. After graduating from South HS in 1945, she worked for the Colorado Medical Society. She married her high school sweetheart, Thomas I. Jones in 1947. The newlyweds moved to Golden while Tom finished college.

In 1951, they moved to Los Alamos where Tom had accepted a position at LASL. Barb worked as a secretary for about 5 years, before she and Tom started their family. During her time raising their two girls, Barb enjoyed helping with school activities, Girl Scouts, and coaching her girls softball team for about 10 years. She also enjoyed time with her friends bowling, playing bridge, serving on many church committees, sewing group, Sorority and entertaining.

In 1990, Barb and Tom moved back to Denver. Enjoying all the things the big city had to offer. The Opera, theatre, Denver Broncos, Colorado Rockies, visits to the mountains, traveling, visiting grandchildren and church activities.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years and the love of her life, Tom. She is survived by her children, Nancy Strain, Rose Bud, AR and Shari Jaramillo and husband, Rick of Broken Arrow, OK. Grandchildren Wenona Westerhold; Kevin Westerhold and wife, Lupe; Carrie Holton; Jeremy Hansen. Kenneth Jaramillo and wife, Sarah; Wendy Edwards and husband, Mike; Ricky Jaramillo and wife, Brandi; and Manual Jaramillo and fiancé, Kaitlin. Twenty-three great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

Please join us for a celebration of our mom’s life on July 28, 2017 at 7 p.m. at the United Church of Los Alamos. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to: Grace Hospice Foundation P.O. Box 33234 Broken Arrow, OK 74153.
