Northern New Mexico College Hosts Community Fiesta To Celebrate Hispanic Heritage ‘Shaping The Future Together’

ESPAÑOLA — Northern New Mexico College (NNMC) has announced a vibrant Community Fiesta Celebration of Hispanic culture during the first week of Hispanic Heritage Month 2024.

Sept. 16-19, the campus will host a series of events honoring the rich traditions, history and contributions of the Hispanic community in Northern New Mexico. A week of campus festivities that showcase the region’s unique Hispanic heritage will culminate in a Community Fiesta 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept.  19.

All community members are invited to join in the Fiesta’s celebratory festivities as Northern embraces its cultural roots and fosters a deeper understanding and appreciation of the Hispanic experience in our region. The event will feature Javier Martinez, speaker of the New Mexico House of Representatives, as keynote speaker, music by DJ Dave, a Hispanic Heritage Car Show, local vendors and food trucks.
