MOWW News:

The December meeting of the Military Order of the World Wars (MOWW) is Sunday, Dec. 7. This month’s speaker is Associate Laboratory Director – Weapons Engineering (ALDW) John Hill.

Hill will open his presentation, touching on his being drafted during the Vietnam War and his stateside assignment in the US Army’s 82nd Airborne Division. However, most of his talk will be dedicated to his father, O. A. Hill, who was one of the first Mickey Men (Radar Navigator) in the European Theatre. His father flew 15 Lone Wolf missions in B-17s, over the Alps into Eastern Europe, on his way to completing a 50 Mission Combat tour. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross on two separate occasions.

This month’s meeting is in room 203A at the Los Alamos Research Park. The meeting will begin at 2 p.m. with a social period. A brief meeting begins at 2:30 p.m., followed at about 3:15 p.m. by the speaker’s presentation.

The meeting will be a hybrid session, both in person and on Zoom. Zoom will start at about 2 p.m., with details sent in the reminder email two days before the meeting.

Current, former and retired federally commissioned officers of all branches of the United States Uniformed Services are eligible for membership in the MOWW and are especially invited to attend its meetings.
