LAHS News:
The Los Alamos Historical Society Shares “What’s Up” for April:
- A 7-foot vertical banner to gauge how close we are to opening the Oppenheimer House!
This large goal tracker in front of the house will allow people to see how far we’ve come to meeting our goal.
Help us fill this martini glass!
Smaller versions of this goal tracker and its progress will appear around town to show how far we’ve come, reflecting how soon we can open and tour the house whose occupant filled martini glasses as he entertained physicists and VIPs in the living room of this historic log and stone house — the men and women who worked to end World War II.
Having this house open to visitors is important to sharing our history.
Next Lecture!
7 p.m. Monday, April 29 — Don’t miss Alan Carr, Laura McGuiness, Ellen McGehee, and Paul Ziomek presenting — “Nobel Laureates of Los Alamos: The Manhattan Project Era” Note: This lecture will be at the Crossroads Bible Church, 97 East Road, Los Alamos.
