The Los Alamos County Fair & Rodeo got underway Friday and continues through Sunday. Events kicked off with the Summer Concert Friday night and this morning’s parade down Central Avenue.
The remainder of today and Sunday are filled with exhibits, the rodeo, and the Sheriff’s Cowboy Dinner & Dance this evening at the Posse Lodge.
Events Schedule:
Saturday Aug. 2
- Festival & Fair, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Ashley Pond Park
- County Fair Exhibits, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Mesa Public Library
- Pie Baking Contest, judging until 1 p.m. at Ashley Pond Park
- County Rodeo, including watermelon eating contest, 2-5 p.m. at Brewer Arena
- Cowboy Dinner & Dance, Los Alamos Sheriff’s Posse Lodge
- 5-7 p.m. Dinner
- 7-9 p.m. Dance
Sunday Aug. 3
- Stroll the Stables, 9 a.m. to noon at North Mesa Stables
- Enjoy a walk around the stables with your family as part of the Los Alamos County Fair and Rodeo! Meet the animals up close and learn about horses, goats, chickens, geese, and lamas, and various types of riding. Lots of fun for all ages, and afterwards, stay for day two of the Rodeo.
- Rodeo: Tough Enough to Wear Pink, including watermelon eating contest, 1-5 p.m. at Brewer Arena.
