Fr. Glenn: To See Clearly

By Fr. Glenn Jones:

These days it seems that politics obscures everything. This policy is great/evil; that politician is lionized/vilified depending on what “team” you’re on. And with social and corporate media also taking sides, it becomes much harder to know what is true and what is not—especially with AI able to fabricate any narrative. It’s perplexing that people contort (or ignore) reality when only adhering to reality can bring about best results.

One of the most subtle and dangerous spiritual and temporal temptations is not open rebellion against God or against reality, but self-deception. Read More

For the Los Alamos Daily Post

Standing on the platform at Brooks Falls in Alaska’s Katmai National Park, I wanted to warn the salmon and tell them, “Look before you leap!” I lost count as to how many of the fish ended up in the mouth of the ginormous brown bear perched at the edge of the falls. While the other bears stood in the water and actually had to work for their food, this guy just planted himself in the perfect spot, ready to catch salmon after salmon in his Read More

Fr. Glenn: Overlap

By Fr. Glenn Jones:

Well … it’s been quite the “interesting” start to the new year, hasn’t it?

New York City has its first Muslim socialist mayor; that will definitely be “interesting” in the financial capital of the world. I, like many, find it hard to believe that, with the tragic history of socialism throughout the world, people are still swayed by its siren song. “Equity” sounds good, but that necessarily presumes equity in effort, ability, etc., which does not happen in practice. If I work harder to produce/earn more, it’s taken from me to give to someone who does not. So why work hard, or at all? Read More

By DAVID HOUCK
Qualifying Broker
Atomic Realty, LLC

The holiday season has come to a close, family visits are wrapping up, and it’s time to refocus and get back to work. If selling your home is on your mind, we’d like to share a few important considerations.

One of the first decisions you’ll need to make is how you want to sell your home:

  • Use a broker to fully market and manage the sale
  • Use a broker only for transaction management and paperwork after finding a buyer
  • Or sell entirely on your own (FSBO)

While we may be a bit biased, it’s worth honestly considering the time, effort, and responsibilities involved—especially Read More
