The New Mexico State Fair has added park and ride services for the 2025 State Fair event to help ease traffic and congestion during prime hours at the Fair.

$2M Roadway Rehabilitation Project On NM 511 To Begin Near Navajo Dam

A Hot-In-Place Recycling project will begin along NM 511 east of Bloomfield, NM.
Hot-In-Place Recycling (HIR) utilizes a specialized machine in which 100% of the asphalt in place is recycled. The asphalt is removed, crushed, rejuvenated, and replaced onto the roadway, restoring flexibility and quality of the asphalt material. This process reduces environmental impacts, speeds up timelines and reduces the cost of roadway miles maintained.

Los Alamos Public Schools Transportation Department Reminds Drivers To Obey School Bus Safety Rules!
LAPS News:
Monday, Aug. 11, is the first day of school for Los Alamos Public Schools (LAPS) for the 2025-2026 school year.
School buses will be sharing the road with drivers commuting to work, as well as parents dropping off students at school and high school students driving themselves to school.
Once again, the LAPS Transportation Department would like to remind drivers in Los Alamos and White Rock to exercise caution when it comes to school buses, bus stops and the students who ride those buses, as well as inform the community about the law regarding school buses.

With the start of the new school year on the horizon, the Los Alamos Police Department (LAPD) is reminding all citizens to stay alert and prioritize safety throughout the community.
Los Alamos Public Schools will be back in session on Monday, Aug. 11, with the exception of Chamisa Elementary School, which will reopen to students on Wednesday, Aug. 13.
As students return to school, drivers are urged to slow down, avoid distractions and be cautious near schools, crosswalks, and bus stops.

New Mexico Tourism Department Awards Second Round Of Route 66 Centennial Grant Funding

SANTA FE, NM – With the Route 66 centennial just around the bend, the New Mexico Tourism Department (NMTD) is revving up its Route 66 Centennial Grant Program for another year.
Thanks to a special appropriation allocated to NMTD during the 2025 Legislative Session, NMTD will be awarding a total of $1,306,097 to Route 66 communities in fiscal year 2026 for the purposes of marketing and promotion, special events and infrastructure.
NMTD awarded $752,538 in funding for marketing and promotion, $423,559 for infrastructure and $130,000 for special events.
