LAPD News:

The Los Alamos Police Department (LAPD) has recently received numerous reports from citizens about fraudulent phone calls.

The caller, a male, falsely claims to be from the Los Alamos Sheriff’s Department and states that there is an outstanding warrant that must be paid.

Please be advised: This is a scam.

If people receive a similar call, hang up immediately and do not provide any personal or financial information.

No legitimate representative from the Police Department, Sheriff’s Office, or the courts will ever call to request payment for a warrant.
