Encanto Bistro, a cherished dining spot celebrated for its unique Mexican-Italian fusion cuisine, will close its doors Friday, Dec. 13, 2024, at 149 Central Park Square. This decision follows significant challenges with their sublease agreement, making it impossible to continue operations under the current circumstances.
“When we opened Encanto Bistro, we envisioned creating a dining experience that blended the vibrant flavors of Mexican and Italian cuisines,” co-owner Ufemia Bernal said. “Despite the challenges, this journey has been deeply rewarding, allowing us to bring our unique vision to life for the Los Alamos community.”
Co-owner Mayra Suarez said, “We are incredibly grateful for the unwavering support of our patrons. Serving this wonderful community has been a true privilege and the friendships and memories we’ve built will remain with us forever.”
As Encanto Bistro reflects on its impact, the owners remain hopeful for the future.
“We are exploring opportunities to continue serving Los Alamos in a new capacity,” Bernal said. “We are collaborating with LACDC and MainStreet on new relocation opportunities and also invite the community to share any ideas or opportunities that could help us establish a new location.”
The owners extend heartfelt thanks to their patrons, staff and partners, including the Los Alamos County Community Development Department.
“Your love and loyalty have made this journey unforgettable,” Bernal said. “We look forward to the next chapter and continuing to bring joy to our friends and supporters.”
