Crews use an excavator Monday to demolish the former McDonald’s on Trinity Drive to make way for a new Starbucks. The County confirmed this morning that this new Starbucks location will offer a sit down area as well as a drive thru. McDonald’s had been leasing the property from Shannon Corporation until about five years ago when it built a new McDonald’s in the Smith’s Marketplace parking lot down the block. Wendy’s later purchased the vacated property from Shannon Corporation and after deciding not to come to Los Alamos, sold the building to Starbucks. Photo by Michael Carlson
