The school is competing to collect the most aluminum cans in the state as part of the Great American Can Roundup. During the first week, students brought in over 2,000 cans. If they win, the team will receive a cash prize, which will be donated to the Heart and Soul Animal Sanctuary in Pecos. Annual Rotary Crab Fest Extravaganza Set for Sunday and You’re invited!

The Los Alamos Rotarians are set to host their third annual “All-You-Can-Eat Crab Fest” fundraiser, which includes prawns and chicken (for those who don’t eat seafood) Sunday Feb. 26 at Central Avenue Grill.
Festivities for the club’s fundraiser begin at 5:30 p.m. with a cash bar followed at 6:30 p.m. with dinner, music and silent and live auctions featuring golf with a pro, salmon and Asian dinners for eight, spring yard-cleaning, computer consulting, artwork, California wines, jewelry and gift certificates

Investigators Seek Public’s Help in Solving Navajo Man’s Death
The FBI and Navajo Department of Criminal Investigations are asking the public for information regarding an apparent hit-and-run death that occurred last Saturday night in Fruitland, N.M.
Stanley Begay, a 51-year-old Navajo man, was found dead on Navajo Route 36, near Mile Post 17, about 15 miles southwest of Farmington, at about 8:46 p.m. Saturday.
Begay was walking along Navajo Route 36 when he apparently was struck by an unknown vehicle that fled the scene.
No witnesses have come forward.
