Toppers Fall To Sundevils 50-65

Harrison Frank drives through traffic on his way to the basket in  the 2nd quarter, he was the Topper’s high point scorer with 21 points, which included 4-3’s in a game against the Espanñla Sundevils Friday night in Griffith Gymnasium. The Toppers fell behind by 10 points in the first quarter and trailed by 10 points throughout the rest of the game as the two teams played even and the Sundevils won 65-50. LAPS: Open Enrollment; In-District Transfer March 2

Los Alamos Public Schools will make available the Open Enrollment Application process (for students who reside outside of Los Alamos County) for the 2020-21 school year at 8 a.m. Monday, March 2.

The application will be accessible online at https:////laschools.net/home/registration and may be completed on a smartphone or computer.

In addition, the In-District Transfer form will be available beginning Monday, March 2 for elementary students who reside in Los Alamos County but wish to transfer to a different school zone.

HillStrummers Play Romantic Programs At Senior Centers

The HillStrummers Ukulele Group will play February Programs of “Love & Romance” at the local senior centers.

White Rock Senior Center: 11:30 a.m. to noon, Friday, Feb. 21. Lunch is catfish, hushpuppies, tartar sauce, German coleslaw, and fruit cocktail.

Marilyn Wightman Demonstrates Pastel Painting Feb. 22

Plein air painter Marilyn Wightman will be doing a Pastel Painting demonstration at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22 at Fuller Lodge Art Center.

As a participant in the “Six of One” Exhibition underway at Fuller Lodge Art Center, Wightman is known for her pastel landscapes and has used the pastel medium since she was a teenager.

Using her plein air set-up but working from a photo, participants can observe the steps she takes to complete a successful painting.

The next monthly meeting of the Discoveries Action Team (DAT) is 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20 at Pajarito Cliffs Site, Building 1, Conference Room.

This month, the only item on the agenda is for the Place-Making and Place-Marketing subgroups to gather and work on their projects.
