Military & Veterans Day At The Legislature Jan. 25
DVS News:
SANTA FE — Military & Veterans Day at the 2020 Legislature is this Saturday, Jan. 25, at the State Capitol in downtown Santa Fe.
This is the annual day during the legislative session presented by the New Mexico Department of Veterans Services (DVS) and the New Mexico National Guard to honor active-duty service members and veterans.
Every year, a segment of the military is also highlighted at a noon ceremony in the Capitol Rotunda. This year, the spotlight will be on former Prisoners of War (POW’s) and those still listed as Missing in Action (MIA).

Los Alamos Public Schools invites the community to the annual District Science Fair Saturday, Feb. 1.
View the array of projects 1-2 p.m. at Los Alamos Middle School on Hawks Drive.
There will be approximately 200 projects on display from four different groups:
- K-5 class projects;
- Elementary Division (grades 4-5);
- Junior Division (grades 6-8); and
- Senior Division (grades 9-12).

2020 Census Complete Count Committee Gathers For Strategy Meeting At Municipal Meeting Today

The 2020 Census Complete Count Committee meeting this morning at the Los Alamos County Municipal Building. The County Council recently created the committee to plan and conduct local educational initiatives, publicity and promotional activities to increase community awareness and participation in the 2020 Census and to work with the Census Bureau and the New Mexico 2020 Statewide Complete Count Commission. Shop On The Corner Open For Business Wednesday

Shop on the Corner, the thrift store on the first floor of Trinity on the Hill Episcopal Church, is open for business 8:30 a.m. to noon Wednesday.
The staff would like to thank again all the shoppers who have helped start the year so grandly. The thrift store workers also acknowledge their donors who have shared so generously.
Wednesday, the profits will be given to Mother Nature’s creatures in both Australia and Puerto Rico. The proceeds will help with animal rescue and recovery as well as the volunteers who care for them.
Backcountry Film Festival At Reel Deal Theater Jan. 23
