‘Dixie Girl’ Restaurant Opening Downtown

In a few weeks time the space occupied by Central Avenue Grill, which closed Saturday night, will be transformed into a cool, urban edgy styled eatery called the Dixie Girl.
Local business leader Denise Lane began formulating the idea for her new restaurant three years ago and today assumes ownership of the property at 1801 Central Ave. Her goal is to open the Dixie Girl for lunch on Memorial Day, May 28.

Central Avenue Grill Owners to Host Farewell Event Saturday Night
Central Avenue Grill owners Min and Monica Park are hosting a community appreciation party from 5-7:30 p.m. Saturday to thank Los Alamos for its support as they prepare to shut down the restaurant at 1789 Central Ave.
One free drink and appetizers will be provided – a $5 donation is encouraged – all proceeds are to go to the Los Alamos Public Schools Foundation.

The Los Alamos County Planning and Zoning Commission approved a site plan for a Smith’s fuel center to be built at the existing Shamrock gas station site at 1239 Trinity Dr.
Smith’s will lease the property at the corner of Trinity Drive and Knecht Street from Polk JT Properties.
Smith’s new fuel center will be adjacent to the Smith’s Marketplace store in Trinity Place.
The new fuel center will allow Smith’s reward cardholders to purchase discounted gas.
