Tom Rheam Trio Plays Blue Window Bistro April 21

BLUE WINDOW News

The Blue Window Bistro in Los Alamos will host a Jazz Night featuring the Tom Rheam Trio Saturday, April 21. Tickets are $15 per person and dinner reservations are required. 

The Trio will perform 7-9 p.m. Tom Rheam plays trumpet and piano, Dick Hogle plays drums and sings and David Moir is on bass.

Rheam has played on the road with Ray Charles, played backup to Frank Sinatra on recordings, toured with the Glenn Miller Band and many other well-known professional singers and musicians.

New Mexico WW2 Internment Camps Symposium: Inside and Outside the Barbed Wire

The New Mexico History Museum/Palace of the Governors will hold a symposium on New Mexico World War II internment camps. Learn more about the experiences of Japanese people held in New Mexico’s internment camps during World War II at an April 21 and 22 symposium. “From Inside and Outside the Barbed Wire: New Mexico’s Multicul­tural World War II Internment Stories,” will be in the History Museum auditorium, 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, April 21 and 1-4 p.m. Sunday, April 22.

Youth Co-op Conversation – Build Your Own Mini Greenhouse!

Do you want to grow your own food?


Do you want to make your own mini greenhouse?


Come by the Co-op Tuesday, April 24 from 6 to 8 p.m and join the Los Alamos Youth Food Project (LAYFP), the JJAB and The Family YMCA by creating a miniature greenhouse. Kids of all ages can stop by the Co-op and learn about the LAYFP, sponsored by a grant from the State Farm Youth Advisory Board, and receive free supplies and instructions to get them going and growing. Vance is Top Predictor in Weekly Pace Race

In the weekly pace race held on the road in lower Pueblo Canyon Linda Vance was the top predictor with a 42 second differential from her predicted time and she was also the fastest runner on the 1 mile course at 7:36.
 
Jennifer Leon has the next best prediction at 52 seconds off and also was the fastest participant on the 3 mile course with a time of 28:22.
 
Other accurate predictors were:  Jim Clifford at 87 seconds off and Bob Reedy with 99 second difference.
