Los Alamos School of Gymnastics traveled to Belen to compete in the USA Gymnastics New Mexico State Championships.
 
Megan Brown, a first year competitor, won the Younger Bronze Division, taking the gold in the all around with 37.40. She also was the state champion on the floor exercise with 9.65 and on the balance beam with 9.50.
She took a silver on vault with 9.15.

SANTA FE ― the New Mexico Human Services Department (HSD) Office of Substance Abuse Prevention (OSAP) announced Tuesday a new statewide prevention campaign to further combat prescription drug abuse.
 
Called A Dose of Reality, the campaign educates youth and their parents about the serious risks of addiction and overdose from prescription painkiller abuse.
