Los Alamos Youth Food Project Plows Forward

A major milestone in the development of a community garden by the Los Alamos Youth Food Project has been accomplished. The garden’s field at the Los Alamos Middle School has been leveled. Good fill dirt is being added. Leveling is a key step that is necessary before planter boxes can be built. United Skates Celebrates 50 Years

The First United Methodist Church, 715 Diamond Drive (adjacent to Sullivan Field) has hosted the Friday night skate program called “United Skates” for nearly 50 years now.  With many thanks to church historian Alice Carter, we know that the very first United Skates sessions took place Friday, May 11, 1962, not long after the construction of Fellowship Hall was completed.

The New Mexico Small Business Assistance (NMSBA) Program — a joint partnership of Los Alamos and Sandia national laboratories and the state of New Mexico — provides technical assistance from national laboratory scientists and engineers to New Mexico small businesses at no cost.  While individual businesses can request assistance at any time, NMSBA annually considers leveraged projects involving multiple businesses with a shared problem that is too large or complex to be solved during an individual project. Atomic Man Duathlon 2012 Results

The 2012 Atomic Man Duathlon was held on Sunday, April 29th. Pet Pangaea, a sponsor of the 2012 Atomic Man Duathlon, has made race photos available to the public.

Eighty two individuals and nine teams from across New Mexico and as far away as Barboursville, West Virgina, competed in this years running and Bicycling event. The event include a “Fat Man” long course and a “Little Boy” short course.
