New Church Opens Doors In Los Alamos

When Pastor Paul Jaramillo’s Open Door Bible Ministry holds its first service at 10:30 a.m. today, his flock will enter a small church led by a man with a huge heart. Jaramillo is well known in Los Alamos as he was Pastor of Los Alamos Christian Fellowship Church for five years. Library Summer Reading Program Attracts Family

Esther Smidt of Los Alamos took her five children Tuesday to Mesa Public Library where they signed up and got their passports for the Summer Reading Program, participated in the Music and Movement Program and checked out lots of books. A lightning strike Tuesday evening at the home of Leo and Clare Webber on Los Pueblos Road evening caused substantial damage but the couple escaped without injury.

Woman Injured On Atomic City Bus This Morning

An Atomic City Transit bus driver braked abruptly at the intersection of Diamond Drive and 38th Street to avoid a collision this morning causing a female passenger to fall forward and hit her head on a pole inside the bus. Los Alamos Police Department and Fire Department personnel responded to the scene.
