The Los Alamos Geological Society (LAGS) will meet 7-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 18 at the Los Alamos Christian Church at 92 East Road.
The guest speaker will be LAGS President Patrick Rowe who will give a presentation on one of his favorite destinations, “Revisiting The Steeple Rock Mining District, Grant County, New Mexico.”
Rowe invites all in the community to attend the meeting to learn what makes this area special: the wonderful specimens of minerals and the beauty and remoteness of the area among these reasons. This district is home to a vast array of minerals such as gold, silver, galena, cacti, chrysocolla, fluorite and malachite to name a few.
All in the community are invited to attend. Light refreshments will be served.
