New Mexico Restaurant Association To Honor Dorothy And Larry Rainosek With Lifetime Achievement Award

ALBUQUERQUE — The New Mexico Restaurant Association (NMRA) Wednesday announced that Dorothy and Larry Rainosek, the visionary founders of Albuquerque’s beloved Frontier Restaurant and Golden Pride establishments, will receive the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award at the annual Hospitality Industry Awards ceremony Sept. 29, 2025.

The NMRA Lifetime Achievement Award is a prestigious honor that recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exemplary leadership, dedication, and significant contributions to the restaurant and hospitality industry in New Mexico.

The Rainoseks, who were previously honored as Restaurateurs of the Year in 1988, are being recognized for their extraordinary contributions to New Mexico’s culinary landscape spanning over five decades. Their commitment to excellence, community service, and employee welfare has set a gold standard in the hospitality industry.

The Rainoseks’ legacy includes their renowned support for all things UNM, the foundation, the students, and the sports teams. They have given to the NMRA Scholarship fund for thirty years. Supporting students interested in making foodservice a career path. Their commitment to paying competitive wages and providing stable employment has created a loyal workforce that reflects in the consistent quality and warm service that has made Frontier Restaurant a University of New Mexico landmark since 1971 and Golden Pride a local favorite for generations.

Beyond their restaurant success, the Rainoseks have been deeply involved in numerous charitable endeavors throughout New Mexico, supporting educational initiatives, community development projects, and local nonprofit organizations that align with their commitment to giving back to the community that has supported them for over half a century.
